Follow Up on Last Week’s Applications
Most candidates apply and wait. Following up sets you apart. A brief professional follow-up shows initiative, reinforces your interest, and puts your name in front of the recruiter a second time. It does not guarantee a response but it absolutely improves your odds.

Step by Step
Check your tracker Look at the applications you submitted in Week 1. Any that are now 7 or more days old are ready for a follow-up.
Find the right contact Go to the company's LinkedIn page and look for the recruiter or HR manager handling the role. If you cannot find them look for the hiring manager for that department.
Send a brief follow-up message Keep it short, professional, and positive. Never sound desperate or frustrated.
Template: "Hi [Name], I wanted to follow up on my application for the [Job Title] role I submitted on [date]. I am very interested in this opportunity and excited about what [Company] is doing in [area]. I would love to connect if you have a few minutes to chat. Thank you for your time."
Log the follow-up in your tracker Note the date and who you contacted. If you do not hear back within another week move on. Do not follow up more than twice.
Tips for success
Send follow-ups via LinkedIn message or email depending on what feels most appropriate for that company
Never follow up the day after applying. Wait at least 7 days.
A follow-up is not a demand for a response. Keep the tone light and genuine.
