Send Follow-Ups on All Outstanding Applications

Week 4 is the right time to follow up on any applications or conversations that have gone quiet. A brief, professional message is always better than wondering whether you missed an opportunity because you did not check in.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Week 4 is the right time to follow up on any applications or conversations that have gone quiet. A brief, professional message is always better than wondering whether you missed an opportunity because you did not check in.

Step by Step

1
Step 1

Pull your follow-up list from Task 1.

2
Step 2

Send a brief follow-up to each one Template: "Hi [Name], I wanted to follow up on my application for the [Job Title] role. I remain very interested in this opportunity and would love to connect if the timing is right. Please let me know if there is anything additional I can provide. Thank you for your time."

3
Step 3

Log each follow-up in your tracker with the date sent.

4
Step 4

Mark any opportunities where this would be your third contact as closed. Do not contact the same person more than twice.

Tips Keep all follow-ups brief, warm, and positive. The goal is to stay top of mind, not to pressure anyone. If a company has gone completely quiet after multiple follow-ups it is almost certainly not moving forward. Accept it and redirect your energy.
