Honest Energy Audit

WEEK 3DAY 6TASK 1

Honest Energy Audit

The quality of your applications, your networking conversations, and especially your interviews is directly tied to your energy and conviction. For career changers this matters even more than for other candidates because employers are partly evaluating whether you believe in yourself and your decision. A depleted candidate does not project that conviction.

WHY THIS MATTERS

The quality of your applications, your networking conversations, and especially your interviews is directly tied to your energy and conviction. For career changers this matters even more than for other candidates because employers are partly evaluating whether you believe in yourself and your decision. A depleted candidate does not project that conviction.

Step by Step

1
Step 1

Rate your current energy level honestly on a scale of 1 to 10 Write it down without judgment.

2
Step 2

Identify your biggest energy drains right now Common drains for career changers:

Doubt about whether the transition is the right decision

Imposter syndrome in the new field

The gap between where you expected to be by Week 3 and where you are

Explaining your career change repeatedly and feeling like people do not understand it

Financial pressure if you have left or are considering leaving your previous role

The feeling of starting over after years of building expertise in another field

3
Step 3

Identify what is giving you energy right now. What activities, people, or moments leave you feeling more confident and motivated? Protect those.

4
Step 4

Make one practical change to how you spend your time this week Examples:

Spend less time on applications that are clearly not converting and more time on relationship-building which tends to be more energizing

Talk to one person who has successfully made a similar transition when you are feeling doubtful

Reconnect with your original reason for making this change by re-reading whatever first drew you to the new field

COACHING NOTES

Tips for success

Doubt is a normal part of any significant transition. The question is not whether you feel doubt but whether you let it drive your decisions. Reconnecting with your genuine reasons for making this change is the most effective antidote.

The people who successfully change careers are not the ones who never doubted themselves. They are the ones who showed up anyway.
