Follow Up on Last Week’s Applications
Following up on applications you submitted in Week 1 keeps you top of mind and demonstrates initiative. Most candidates apply and disappear. A brief professional follow-up sets you apart without being pushy.

Step by Step
Check your tracker Look at applications submitted 7 or more days ago with no response.
Find the right contact on LinkedIn Search for the recruiter or hiring manager for the role. If you cannot find them try the HR department or a relevant department head.
Send a brief follow-up Template: "Hi [Name], I wanted to follow up on my application for the [Job Title] role I submitted on [date]. I am genuinely excited about this opportunity and what [Company] is building in [area]. Please let me know if you need anything additional from my end. Thank you for your time."
Log the follow-up in your tracker Note the date and who you contacted. If no response after another week move on.
Tips for success
Keep follow-ups positive and brief. Never express frustration at the wait time.
One follow-up per application is enough. Two at most if there is a compelling reason.
