Complete these steps
Review each application before submitting Check: correct company name in your summary, no typos, correct file name, all required fields filled in.
Write a cover letter for each application Even if it says optional always write one. A cover letter that specifically addresses the role shows effort and professionalism that most candidates skip.
Your cover letter should be:
3-4 paragraphs
Addressed to a specific person if possible (check LinkedIn for the hiring manager's name)
Opening: Why you are excited about this specific company and role
Middle: 2 specific examples of relevant experience
Closing: Confident call to action — "I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background in X can contribute to Y"
Submit each application Follow the instructions exactly. Some companies want you to apply through their website, some through LinkedIn Easy Apply, some by email. Use whichever method they specify.
Log everything in your tracker Add the company, role, date applied, application URL, and set a follow-up reminder for 7 days from today.
