Update Your About Section
Your LinkedIn About section is your personal pitch. It is where you tell your story, showcase your expertise, and invite people to connect with you. Most people either leave it blank or write a boring third-person bio. Done well it can be the reason a recruiter reaches out to you instead of someone else.

Open your LinkedIn profile. Open a blank document to draft your About section before pasting it in.
Complete these steps
Understand the structure Your About section should have 4-5 short paragraphs:
Paragraph 1: Who you are and what you do (the hook)
Paragraph 2: Your area of specialization and expertise
Paragraph 3: Your biggest career achievement or win
Paragraph 4: What you are looking for next
Paragraph 5: Call to action
Write each paragraph
Paragraph 1 Example: "I'm a marketing professional with 7 years of experience helping tech companies grow their customer base through strategic content and demand generation. I specialize in turning complex ideas into campaigns that actually convert."
Paragraph 2 Example: "My expertise sits at the intersection of data and creativity. I've led teams responsible for SEO, paid media, email marketing, and brand strategy — always with an eye on what the numbers are saying."
Paragraph 3 Example: "Most recently I built a content program from scratch that drove 340% growth in organic traffic and contributed $1.8M in pipeline in under 18 months."
Paragraph 4 Example: "I'm currently exploring Senior Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing roles at growth-stage companies where I can build something meaningful."
Paragraph 5 Example: "If you're looking for someone who can own strategy and execute — let's connect."
Write in first person Use "I" not "John is a marketing professional." First person is warmer and more engaging.
Paste it into LinkedIn Go to your profile, click the pencil icon on your About section, paste your draft, review it and click Save.
